Babysitting Resume

Seems that all of our friends are pregnant these days. Therefore, we wanted to submit a photo resume of our qualifications as appropriate babysitters.
Joshua is extremely affectionate:
I am a very responsible caretaker:
And we are able to inspire the children to put in some hard work:

Case closed.

UPDATE: I track how people are finding this website. Ends up that people are Googling the terms "babysitter resume" or "resume for babysitting" and finding this blog entry. Too funny. I hope they take similar pictures and get a great job! We love being helpful!

If you want more good advice, please visit this website. Believe me, it is really good ... or extremely funny. I get those two mixed up some times.

Valentine's Weekend Getaway

To celebrate the holiday and our 1.5 year anniversary, we ventured to the wilds of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania in the Pocono Mountains (about a two hour drive from Philly). On the other side of the "mountains" there was snow ... lots of it!

We stayed at a cute bed and breakfast (The Hillcrest) and spent Saturday hiking up the Glen Onoko Falls. Three beautiful waterfalls on the way up a steep and snowy trail. Really awesome to see the ice formations. We also enjoyed a fancy dinner of local farm-to-table fare at FLOW restaurant, which was built OVER part of the Lehigh River and includes a great view through a special window hole in the wall/floor. Neat!
Sunday, we did what any couple does during a romantic getaway: shoot other people with paint-filled pellets! Paintballing was great. Things we learned: Joshua is great at getting into position while Laura is a good sharp-shooter. All-in-all a fun day lookin' mean. We even look mean while taking a lunch break.

Pink for the Holiday!

Joshua currently has a lovely case of pink eye. He is just THAT into Valentine's Day.
In other news, this past weekend we wallpapered the closet in the front bedroom. I love the design. (We will post more pictures of the room once it is put back together.)

Winter is Finally Here!

On Sunday, we played tennis in shorts. Today we are shoveling the "wintery mix" off our sidewalk.

Crazy weather.

Le Bistro

One would think Le Bistro was referring to a fancy-pants eatery. In actuality, it is the automatic cat feeder we got for Shanti before Christmas. Thinking that the feeder could save us from having to put her in a Cat Motel, we programmed the device to feed her the appropriate 1/4 cup of dry cat food each day in three separate meals. We also asked our neighborhood to check in on the cat.

After 10 days away, the cat had consumed well nearly 12 cups of cat food. This is too much for our kitty. Not only had she convinced the neighbor to feed her more food -- through tear-inducing meows -- she also was able to stick her arm into Le Bistro and pull the food out! Like Homer Simpson when he grabs candy bars out of the vending machine. Sure, she is only able to get one morsel of food at a time, but she is nothing if not persistent!
I tried to capture a photo of her with her arm stuck inside the feeder, but no luck. Believe us, it is hilarious!

Chef Joshua

Since school started, Joshua has once again begun cooking a meal or two each week. He is really good at it! While I cook "the ol' regulars", Joshua has been cooking some amazing meals. So amazing that I had to take a picture of one of them ... the pesto-brown-rice-in-breaded-chicken-surrounded-by-bacon-and-baked-to-perfection.
Also, in the past month, Joshua has also cooked up a full beard which is especially delicious. Yum!

Erica and Greg's "Wee One"

Until they set up a blog of their own, I just wanted to share an awesome picture of Erica and Greg's wee one. How awesomely exciting!

Giants = Awesome

Thank you for letting us win the football pool, Giants! Thanks to Debbie and Dennis for hosting us -- it was great to see everyone! (The gang playing Wii during Half-Time. Yeah, we didn't get to see Tom Petty's wardrobe malfunction either.)
