Alma is 4

Our "big kid" is actually getting big.  Alma was overjoyed to become four and celebrate all day with family.  Below is the last picture of her as a three year old before she went off to bed.

We celebrated with cupcakes first thing in the morning (Joshua's brilliant idea), then we played with toys (a geo-lacing gift from James), Alma went to ballet practice, we had a party with our family, and even went window shopping downtown with Nana.  A great birthday for a terrific kiddo.  Later in the week, Alma, Nana and I attended The Nutcracker ballet and had lunch at the Hotel Bethlehem.  The following weekend, we celebrated Nana's birthday with lunch and even more cake.  Birthday bonanza!

December Happenings

Beyond Alma's triumphant transformation into a four year old, this month has ballet (each Saturday morning), great toys borrowed from the library, a little Christmas tree for our house, lots of snow and snow days off from school and work (that made for a busy week while Joshua was in California for work) and art projects (including exploring finger painting) to pass the long cold days.

November Recap

So much to say about our lovely kids and our busy lives but I'm hoping that photos can at least give a glimpse into all of it.  November was a month of first haircuts, watching my parents townhouse while they traveled through France and Spain for seven weeks (watching football on Sundays on their big screen tv), days off from school for zoo trips, baking cut out cookies, painting our pumpkins a week after Halloween, Bethlehem's Christmas tree outside the library, James's love of Shanti and putting his arm around her as they chat and, lastly but not least, the continued development of Alma and James as great playmates, friends who makes each other laugh constantly and, at times, fierce competitors for attention.
