Simon and Vultures

In his enthusiasm to rub against the unadorned Christmas tree (before we took it outside), we think he accidentally ate an ornament hook which ripped up his insides.  Luckily, after a sleepless night for Joshua, vultures in our backyard (really!), a day at the emergency vet, and two weeks of five types of meds, he's back to normal.  Phew.

Immaculata University

I feel so blessed to work at Immaculata University. I recently saw this old (2009) ESPN clip and was delighted by how well it captured the feeling of pride the University has.  I have a group of wonderful colleagues, interesting work, and a beautiful work environment.  I'm very blessed to be there.

Christmas Recap

What a terrific Christmas season in our new house, which has enough room for everything -- toys, quiet spaces, playing in the snowy yard, and lots of guests.  Ahh, what a nice break to be together as a family.

Photos below include: decorating the tree, endless snow play, lots of yummy meals (especially on James's birthday!), endless Lego building, a special visit from my cousins Mike and Dave and their families, and New Years yoga with Alma.  Not shown: ice skating with friends and other small adventures around the area
