Last Remnants of Summer 2022

Oh, these last days of summer are the best.  I vote that the entire year be comprised of all the things we cram into the last few weeks of summer break, including sailing at Marsh Creek (and never swimming off the boat - ha!), Alma's amazing baking (and my new living wall), dressing up to play board games in our sunroom (formerly the gym), treats from Rita's, anniversary weekend with trips to a delicious restaurant and HomeDepot (thanks, Mom and Dad, for watching the children), Ikea furniture building, slime, friends, and neighborhood walks with the remote control car.

 

We Got Kittens!

We are happy to announce that Dylan Chester Chisholm (the one on the left) and Emma Annie Chisholm (the one on the right) are officially Chisholm family members! Dylan is 4 months, and Emma is 3 months. They are a joy to have around, and we can't remember ever living without them. Emma is very adventurous and fun to be around. On the other hand, Dylan is very cuddly and loves to be picked up and petted. We love our kittens so much! (written by Alma)

Oregon 2022

 We were so lucky to spend a week in Central Oregon with Josh's family.  We enjoyed many adventures, including Cline Falls, Tumalo State Park, Smith Rock, Lava Butte, downtown Bend, and Elk Lake.  And, of course, we enjoyed multiple rounds of Peanuts each night and lots of time enjoying Grandma Chisholm and Grandpa Henry's beautiful yard that includes amazing views of multiple glacial mountains.

June Redemption

Okay, June, you made up for the May showers.  Who doesn't love the end of the school year (outdoor concert), beach trips with family (complete with a zoo trip and dolphin-watching tour), celebrating Father's Day with a climb, sailing Lasers (not shown), finally graduating in a personalized ceremony with a room full of some of your favorite people, and Hershey Park?  

 

Happy Half Birthday, Alma

 

Alma is a fun kid.  We all knew this but what makes her especially fun is that she is always up for almost anything.  She is a roll-with-the-changes, "it's okay," and look on the bright side type of person.  I love that when the washer breaks (wait, I don't love when the washer breaks ...), she is game for going to the laundromat to learn about how that works and sit in the trunk of the car with me while we wait for our clothes.  She is always anxious to support friends -- wanting to go to her friend Taylor's musicals, loving watching her cousins play sports, and was always cheering me on as I made my way through my doctoral program.

I love her adventurous, try-anything spirit and cannot wait to see the trouble ... I mean "adventures" we get into in the coming years.  Happy half birthday, Alma dear.
