While we did not have much of a winter (no real snow storms), we have also had a slightly delayed and chilly spring season. Recent happenings: The kids and I really enjoyed the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove and a hillside adventure. We took Nana on a winding walk there on Easter. I celebrated my birthday and our blooming tree. James tried out for a soccer team while I took a work trip to rural Maryland to serve as a Middle States reviewer. The kids had school events -- Poetry Morning and the Middle School Spring Concert. Plus, we have had lots of chill days at home with friends and doing yard work (including removing an older tree in the front yard).

Spring Break
A visit from Uncle Scott, the Dungeons and Dragons movie, time at the beach building sand castles, and then a chill weekend = perfect!

CATS!
Alma, James, and I went to see the musical Cats, which was fun, slightly confusing ("what are they saying?"), and a delight. I have not been to many musicals (not that I've wanted to, honestly) and wanted the kids to be exposed to this art form. It was an entertaining afternoon, but, more than that, it was a fun way to spend the day together since even the drive to Philly and finding parking is fun with these two.

Recent Adventures
The last few months have been full and fun. With the kids taking on new after-school activities (soccer for James; violin lessons for Alma) and my expanded work role, our weekdays have been a bit hectic. So we've been taking it slow on the weekends -- enjoying each other and the small pleasures in the area.
Recent delights: Eagles in the Superbowl, walking with Nana and Grandpa at the Tyler Arboretum (finding and catching peepers), a day trip to Philly to the Natural Science Museum and Reading Terminal Market, swimming and dinner on campus, maple syrup exploration with Nana, Grandpa, and the Thompson (followed by bowling and pinball playing), Alma's Valentine's Day cake, trips to Philly as part of a class I'm helping to coordinate, and Grandpa hanging out with James and completing some Dungeons and Dragon's artwork.
Not shown: Nana spending the day with Alma (mani-pedi!), great climbing days at the local gym, playing Dungeons and Dragons as a family, lots of playdates/parties/a super fun school dance for Alma, and lots of playing with the kittens in the house.
