It was so nice to sit around the house while friends, family and neighbors trickled through to visit last Saturday during our house blessing and open house.
Unfortunately, we were so busy hanging out that we forgot to take photos except for this lovely one showing the two Lauras, kitty and the cookies which will be sent to a certain Patrick in Afghanistan.
School started this week, so posts may be fewer and farther between for a chunk of time. Although, maybe it will be the opposite as I try to create more study breaks for myself!

House Blessing and Open House
This upcoming Saturday, August 25th we will be having a house blessing at 1pm and then an open house until 7pm. If you are a friend or relative and did not receive an invitation, shame on us. Please email, call or comment to this post and we will be sure to share all of the details.
Life beyond the house....
I spent the last week vacationing with my two favorite men -- a week of sailing with my father followed by a weekend of chilling with my husband.
Dad and I sailed around the Chesapeake Bay -- Baltimore, Annapolis, Rhode River and the Eastern Shore -- from Monday to Friday. One night while we were on the hook and eating dinner, approximately 75 sailboats raced right by our anchorage. What a sight!
After that amazingly fun adventure was over, Joshua met up with us in Baltimore and we ended up going back down to Annapolis to stay in a bed and breakfast for the weekend to celebrate our first anniversary.
We had a relaxing but busy weekend renting kayaks, visiting with an old friend (Mark, my mate on the sailing yacht in the Caribbean), playing miniature golf, eating wonderful meals and just hanging out in a neat town. Of course we ate the top of our cake, too! It was ... um, .... edible although Joshua ate too much of it and suffered from a stomach ache. It looks appetizing, right?! At least you can kind of still tell that it was a plaid design on the cake.
What can I say, I'm a blessed gal!

The House: Now Almost Liveable!
The house is a mess with boxes and half-finished projects, but we wanted to share some more photos.
The orange and blue bathroom
The kitchen -- The cat is lounging where we are hoping to install an island.
Our bedroom -- Yes, it is just a picture of a bed and a window, but that is all there is in the bedroom. We decided to make the larger upstairs room our activities room (desk, dressers, weigh bench, couch with TV, etc) and keep the very small room for sleeping.
