What a good dog. We will miss you, buddy.
He was at least 13 years old (we think more like 14 years old), was slowing down, and, in the last few months, had lost a lot of weight. Then, he really went downhill quickly in the last few weeks as he stopped eating. It was totally sad but we had a lovely, sunny weekend enjoying the backyard with him before I went to the vet's office to put him to sleep. The kids are still too sad to talk about him so we have been gently avoiding the topic until they are ready.
