The Queen's Team

The Lachman Family (my cousin Christine's family), Joshua, and I will be walking in the 18th Annual Lupus Loop on Sunday, October 25th as a part of the Queen's Team and we are looking for sponsors. The Lupus Loop is a 5K Run/Walk held in Fairmont Park and the monies raised benefit the Lupus Foundation of America, SE PA Chapter. The Lupus Loop is a part of a nation-wide series of events that raise awareness and funds to fight lupus. Major gaps exist in our understanding of the causes and consequences of Lupus. To address these gaps, we continue to raise funds so we can greatly expand our efforts so that the 1.5 million Americans with lupus may have hope that the disease will be brought under control and a cure will be found.

This is the Queen Team's eighth year participating in the walk and the first year that Joshua and I are joining the walk/run. Our team goal is to raise $1,500.00. For every $250.00, a sign will be put along the route in memory of Christine’s mother and my aunt, Kathleen Dowd, who passed away 10 years ago from Lupus. The Dowd and Lachman families already donated enough money to have her name on the Lupus Loop t-shirt that is given to all participants that preregister for the Walk- Run.

If you would like to support the cause, please visit the website to make a secure donation. Thanks!
