Thanksgiving Beach Weekend + Liberty Bell Visit

We rented a house in (Ventnor City, New Jersey) for the weekend. Cold beach trips are always so fun.  Our new kite was a fun addition to the trip!

 

Then the kiddos and I spent a night in Philadelphia to see the Liberty Bell, ride the subway and sleep in a hotel (with a pool!).  I love having adventures with these two!

Diwali

Alma's amazing teacher, Ms. Singh, led the class in celebrating Diwali last week.  Alma was invited to wear her sari (a gift from Godfather Scott's trip to India) along with a classmate who wore his formal clothes.  She told Joshua that she felt so special that her eyes had water come out of them.

Quick update

Apple picking with Godfather Peter and his lovely family, a tricky carrot cake I iced for Joshua's birthday (he wanted carrot cake but lovingly made the children a chocolate cake -- what a guy!), Alma is writing and reading up a storm, James still naps daily (at school or on the couch on the weekends), the ToysRUs catalog is a hit, the pets are still harassed, I had a terrific morning visiting Alma's school open house, and this fall is beautiful (view from my work office window).
