Alma the Climber

This weekend we took the kiddos climbing at Safe Harbor, which is about an hour's drive from our house.  Usually, they climb to a height just outside of our reach and then decide to come down.  This past weekend, Alma popped on the wall and then kept going.  It was awesome to see!

We ended up outside -- with the approach to the climb (over a mile up a hillside then along a former train track), Joshua leading the sport climb and then each of us taking a few turns with the route top roped -- for over 5 hours.  It was a long first day of climbing but the kids handled it like champs.

It's going to be a fun summer of climbing as a family!
