Grateful for an interesting career

As a grant writer at a university, I have such an interesting job.  Partnering with all of the departments and all of the Centers of Excellence has been such a delight.  I'm so grateful to have found a position that is always interesting, challenging, and provides me with the resources to be successful.

Sometimes when I'm rushing out the door in the morning, I'll catch a glimpse of myself -- in a corporate casual outfit (usually a blouse, skirt, low-heeled sandals, and a blazer), with light makeup, only somewhat wet hair (it dries during my commute), coffee, purse with files I've brought home to read at night (that are usually ignored), and lunch bag filled with very consistent items (apple, cheddar cheese stick, small overnight oats with chia seeds and raisins, and leftovers for lunch) -- I'll smile because I'm so delighted by where my adult life has landed.

Without Joshua and the kids, I wouldn't have a delicious lunch of leftovers or be heading to work feeling refreshed by their love.  I'm so grateful for Joshua and the kids supporting me and my pursuits in so many ways.

Here I am pictured at the Alumni/Homecoming event with my colleagues Katie (left) and Nancy (center).
